Liiküla border outpost, which was established more than 60 years ago to guard Estonia's western border on Saaremaa,
is the richest and most unique border guard complex remaining in Eastern Europe with the tallest watchtower of its type (total height with the cabin is 22 m).
Both the Soviet border guard, being one of the support structures of the Iron Curtain during the Cold War, as well as the Estonian border guard after the regaining of Estonia’s independence, have operated here.
Currently, a military adventure park dedicated to the history of the border guard services operates here and has beautiful alleys exciting history and roller coasters (a 22-metre tall watchtower with an exclusive view of Hiiumaa, bomb shelter roller coaster, shooting game, unique indoor and outdoor exhibitions.
